The hotel is in perfect location. Good value for money. We paid the upgrade of 15$ per night to get a room with a Nile View. It really made a difference.

| "We were expecting a 5-star Hilton, but were surely disappointed. We stayed in a standard room which is in fact sub-standard! As other reviewers have said, the furniture is old, all provisions in the room are just basic and there is barely any decoration. Besides, there were not enough towels, no complimentary tea/coffee, the heater did not really work and was noisy, the TV is an antique and its remote could hardly work, the door under the sink is broken and there is no view at all outside the window. Although the room is basically clean and comfortable, it can hardly be called a 5 star by Asian standard and it is definitely not worth the price we paid (USD160 per night). The service at the reception was OK but staff there rarely smiled or took initiative to help. The man at the conceirge changed his face when we showed no intention to join his expensive day tours.
We chose Nile Hilton because it was close to our conference venue. If you have no special needs, I suggest you try other newer hotels. However, I agree with other reviewers that the location of Nile Hilton is very good and it gives you a quiet and decent shelter after having a day out in the chaotic and nerve-racking Cairo!" |
