| "No pool.... Some reviews say there is but there isn't.
Older hotel with reasonabley new bathrooms. Large rooms but decor is a bit weary. Located right in down town Cairo on the edge of the Nile.
We stayed as a group so were reasonabley happy. Good value but wouldn't recommend it for romantic getaway." |

| "I was in Cairo at June and my stay in Shephard Hotel by 6 nights. The hotel have many facilities as Bank, Stores and is very near the many tourists points. The service bar in the room is not approved. It is a good hotel." |

| "The hotel was very nice and staff were very helpful and not your usual pushy Egyptians. Disco was not in operation which I think might have something to do with the fact that we did not visit Egypt in peak tourist times. Location was great lots to do and see in walking distance e.g. Egypt museum 5mins walk. It was on the nile and in a pleasant and safe area and taxis could find it no problem. Everyone seemed to know about the hotel and when negotiating with sales people don't mention you stay there as the pound signs will flash in their eyes. Breakfast was good with lots to choose from. | "Good Hotel for the price you can obtain from Asiarooms. Choice upper rooms (noise from the street all the time)." |

| "Make sure you ask at reception to upgrade to a Nile view room. Its only $20 a night, and the view and balcony are absolutely amazing! The Shepheard is an amazing hotel: friendly staff, beautiful rooms, great breakfast, and the best price you will find in Cairo for a hotel of that quality!!" |

| "we stayed there for 5 days, and we enjoyed all of it,the check in was quick, and the room was perfect except for the fact that it did not have any safe in it,the staff were very friendly and helpful.the hotel was located in a great place,10 min. walk from the museum, and close to fast food restruants,we enjoyed our stay in Cairo alot, the only thing that i didn't like was that people are very needy and they ask for money all the time, and you have to bargain for everything,
overall it was great thanks to asia rooms and I highly recommend staying at this hotel to everyone." |

| "First time stay at Shepheards. Overall the room and location was perfect. The only downsides were lack of internet connection in the bedroom, shower was not as good as it could be, and lack of room coffee/tea although the room service was quite prompt." |

| "Like most hotels in Egypt, the service is really not up to the standards of 4-star hotel. The room is nice but the amenities are quite poor. I had to buy toothpaste for 5 USD!
I even had to argue with the front desk officers to obtain a receipt for my stay!

| "I loved the location of the Shepheard. I had a major complaint about the service offered by the concierge. I brought it to the hotel manager and he exceeded my expectations!! I found that every taxi driver in Cairo knew where the hotel was (very important). I easily walked to restaurant on the Nile and the Sadat Metro stop. The only reason I wouldn't stay there again would be to experience another part of the city." |
