"The Sheraton Sharm: Plus: - all rooms are large with a big terrace facing the Red Sea, - Quiet surroundings as it away from Naama Bay and the crouds, large beach and access to the sea through a floating bridge to protect the reef, nice pool, interesting reef to snorkel, - Buffet breakfast is OK - Staff is very friendly and helpful, as always in Egypt Minus: - It is away from Naama bay and Sharm el Sheikh village so a taxi is required. Hotel provides taxis for 7 euros one way, free shuttle is always full. - Lobby, restaurants are not cosy nore pleasant, very expensive for what you get, so have meals in Sharm or Naama Bay - Very large number of Russians tourists on cheap all inc package "

"We stayed at the sheraton during July time 2004, the weather was very hot. If you dont like the heat dont go during July time go in the winter where it reaches to about 25 degrees. The staff were very friendly and very helpful. The food at the sheraton was lovely, we always ate at the Italian (Portofino) the people that work there were kind. Whilst our stay at Sharm El Sheikh we thought we would have a look around at naemma Bay, but we didn' like it at all, people were standing outside their shops and forcing us to go inot their shops. so after that we had to go back to the hotel because we didn't like it. The atmoshere there was fantastic, i would also recommened snorkiling the sheraton has the best snorkling and diving fasilites. I would definatly recommend this hotel to anyone, i'm going back there during the winter because i liked it so much. "

"Beautifully landscaped extensive grounds. Friendly helpful staff. Calm relaxed atmosphere. What a beautiful surprise. The resort is laid out on three very spacious levels each with its'own pool and bar and three or four two storey crescents surrounding. We had a ground floor room with Terrace and a small garden. The landscaping of the whole complex is excellent and the walk to the main hotel was most enjoyable (5-7 mins and about the only exercise we took). We had full use of the hotel facilities and it was a nice feeling to 'go home at night'. Most people we spoke to staying in the Hotel had not ventured out into the extensive grounds and had certainly missed out on some beautiful scenery. The only down side I can think of was the showers which either ran hot or cold and needed careful adjustment.(for anyone holidaying here turn the cold on first and bring the hot on very slowly),and of course the power cuts, but having lived in Asia for many years, such is life. We are planning our return."

"We stayed at the Sheraton at Sharm El Sheikh over Christmas 2003. We found the staff friendly and helpful , the entertainment  and activities acceptable and the food variable in quality. The beach facility is good because umbrellas and chairs are not close together. This hotel is advertised as 5 star but I would not put it in that category. The hotel only provided 3 shuttles to town per day and this we feel was totally inadequate. In the four times we tried to get on one we only managed it once.  If you do not like loud music make sure that your room is not located in the middle third of the hotel-you tend to get the blare from the beach music which at times can be far from relaxing. The rooms do have a great terrace and everyone gets a sea view but  I prefer  more than a large single bed to sleep in. We expected 2 doubles. Also check  your billing when you check out. We found other people had booked accounts to our room. No one had obviously checked the signatures. This was rectified however with no problem. Sharm El Sheikh is very much a town for the tourist. It does have some quaint places but it is mostly geared to sell and the shop keepers can wear you down  though as they will not leave you alone.Take note airport prices for touristy momentos were much cheaper then the town but limited in selection. Overall, this seemed a good spot for a family holiday. Prices were very reasonable and the water activities just great"
