No professional staff. Looks like only students are working in that hotel. Not clean: pool area was dirty, room service trays stay out of the rooms for days, rooms could be cleaner.
Outdatted, overpriced. That's what monopolistic situations lead to: a rip-off! Stay away... if you can.

The room was a decent size, quite easily accommodating 2 double beds and clean. The bathroom was a good size and looked to have been refurbished recently. The grounds and pool area were dirty and in need of a pool attendant to wash sun loungers and pool area on an evening. Most of the accommodation at Ayers Rock Resort seemed to be of a similar standard with not very well maintained gardens and pool areas.
The room and bathromm were of good...
The room and bathromm were of good size and basically clean. The shower was not well thought out as it only had one fixed position or had to be hand held. In consequence, the shower curtain was not an appropriate means of containing the flow of water.
As many others have indicated, the costs are all on the high side but the 'Sounds of Silence Dinner' and 'Desert Awakening' were both excellent value for money.
Ayers Rock in general is quite expensive....
Ayers Rock in general is quite expensive. We know we are in the middle of a big dessert and it is an exclusive place, but the value for money was expensive to us.
However, Desert Garden Hotel is a good option for those who do not want the cheapest nor the most expensive hotel at Uluru. Good accomodation to spend a couple of days!

This hotel, like all the rest at Ayers Rock, is grossly overpriced for what you get. The amenities and rooms are comparable to a Hampton Inn or Best Western--at about 3 times the price! The rooms are decent-sized (typical hotel) and clean, but the front desk service is not overly friendly or helpful. The restaurants are quite expensive, too. Supposedly your room key can be used to pay for everything at the "resort", but we found that wasn't always the case. Unfortunately, because Voyages owns all the hotels and restaurants in the area, you are at their mercy. I might suggest camping out if you are on a limited budget.

Lovely hotel. I liked my room(Delux) with a king-sized bed and a beautiful bathroom although my room was quite far from the reception. I think there should be more lights along the paths in the premises. I was a bit scared of walking at night and early in the morning because it was so dark and quiet. The location was good. The visitors center was next to the hotel and very convenient to book tours. Go up the stairs to the visitors center and turn around. Uluru was just there! The receptionists were friendly except one trainee. I was happy with the HOSPITALITY ROOMS they provided with. I dried my hair and changed my clothes there just before my departure after a tour in a rainy day. Ask the receptionists if you need them!
I don't like the way very far...
I don't like the way very far from front desk to assigned room. If you have a or few BIG bag(s), you have to tow them by yourself that far and carry up to second stair. Also check out time is 10.00 AM sharp, I asked for 10.30 AM, they said NO. by the other rest of world hotel's check out time is 12.00 PM or at least 11.00AM.
