This establishment is the only game in...
This establishment is the only game in town, so they are free to over-charge for what they offer, jack up the prices of food available, and bait and switch at random. Yes, it was a clean and relatively comfortable place to stay near Ayers Rock (relative to sleeping under the stars in the desert). However, we reserved a double room, and they gave us a bunk room, saying there was nothing else available. My husband is a senior and I am close behind. It's not my cup of tea to sleep under a bed's springs that are 2 1/2 feet over the bottom bunk, nor is it fun for me to climb up to the top bunk in the middle of the night. Especially for the inflated price.

We found the hotel complex was spot on even though we got the most cost effective hotel. On the whole compared with Australia we found Ayres Rock an expensive place to stay as we had 4 week in Oz.

This resort was recommended by our friends,...
This resort was recommended by our friends, it is a good value, other hotels in this area are more expensive for pretty much the same service. Overall everything was fine there, the only thing which was bit dissapointing was the fact that no chance to have a late lunch or early dinner anywhere in the resort. Say between 3pm-6pm no food service at all, the only option is the coffee shop in the centre of town or supermarket and cook your own. Shame, otherwise great place to stay.

Rooms are in seperate out buildings to the main reception and you walk through eucalyptus covered desert walkways to get to the rooms. It is a stunning location. Definitely more character than staying in an air-conditioned sterile hotel. The food is mainly barbecue and there is live outdoor entertainment at night. Hotel has souvenir shop and tours info/booking office also. This place was part of the "Uluru Experience" for me. Recommended.
