At Uluru/Ayers Rock, you're really limited as to where you may stay and the accomodations available. We stayed at the emu Walk Apts., which were clean and tidy. The 2 bedroom apartment had a nice kitchen and eating area, the bedrooms were very very small, the bathroom was a good size, and the living area was furnished with two small couches. For the amount of money spent, I would expect more, but since there aren't many other places to stay right in the area, you don't get very many choices. There are several restaurants in the complex, we ate at Gekkos one evening...not too bad. The second evening we ate a Kuniya (based on Conde Nast ratings) but were terribly dissapointed. I thought the amount charged for a main was (average US $50.00) way over the quality given and the service was horrible. We had to practically beg for more water and ended up pouring our own wine...we were going to order another bottle, but they never showed up to ask if we wanted one. My advice, eat elsewhere.
