It would have been more useful to have a power point for the jug near the fridge and tea making items rather than having to use the bathroom. The main light in our room, 1214, did not work, nor a side light near the suitcase storage area. This made packing and unpacking in the dark extremely difficult. As we were only there one night we didn't make any complaints to the management nor seek to get the problem rectified.
A courtesy bus would be very useful to pick up passengers from the station or city buses. We had to wait 40 mins for a taxi to take us just a few blocks from Roma Street Station. Our luggage was too heavy to carry or we would have walked.
The river view was magnificent and worth paying the extra for. We spent the evening watching the city lights and activity on the river from our window, and next morning took in the early morning activities of rowers training and the city coming to life.
We found the location superb and handy for everything. Just a short walk to Queens street and all the shops, cinemas and food outlets. When in Brisbane again we would not hesitate to use the Mercure hotel again.
