First reaction was poor...walk to the room is dark & grimy. There appeared to be permanent, dubious, residents there. I would have felt uneasy returning at night. The room was dark and suspect! We left our cases and went into town. I spoke to an offical tour guide and mentioned the Rainbow Inn to which he strongly advised that we change hotels immediately saying that " it is a late night drinking house, noisy and frequented by prostitutes. I took his advice, returned to the hotel and checked out. I did not spend one night there. Later discovered that the hotel has a reputation of ill-repute throught-out Cairns.

We thought the hotel quite suited our needs. There was some disadvantage in being well out of the city centre, but it was close to the airport and Cairns has a good bus service. The courtyard was attractive. The room was reasonable, but the bathroom a bit shabby. Breakfast was OK but we've had better ones cheaper. The service we got from everyone was very good, especially in the front office.
Over all, we were very content. Thank you.
Never again: The Bar is opened till...
Never again: The Bar is opened till late and the people there were so loud , you could not sleep the whole night. Terrible ! I will never recommand this accomodation...
