When I first came to Hobart, I...
When I first came to Hobart, I stayed at Rydges for more than a week. It is a quiet place, and the staff are friendly and helpful. The location is not too far away from town, but it would be more advisable to hire a cab than to walk especially for the senior folks. There is a 'food street' located somewhere at the back of the hotel. Do ask the staff, they will be very happy to assist you. I would not recommend Rydges to budget travelers because the cost is not that cheap. But for those who are looking for a nice, cozy and comfortable hotel, Rydges is the place.
