Salamanca Inn, Hobart  

We stayed for two nights. The first night our room was next to several guests who were attending a christmas function downstairs. They were drunk and made alot of noise, keeping us up most of the night. We complained about this and received a complimentary breakfast. The next night there was a christmas function for the police force and the band played until 12pm (we were in room 109 - just above) We were informed that the band would stop at 11pm. We should have been moved to another room given the problems we had on the first night. This was our second time at this hotel. However probably will not be back. My wife was pregnant during our time in Hobart and got vey little sleep both nights. The only thing that stopped us writing to the manager and making a formal complaint was; on our last day there we had a family emergency and had to get back to Melbourne urgently. The girl on reception on this day was a tremendous help.
