We rented a two bedroom apartment over the F1 Grand Prix weekend.
The hotel is by Melbourne's China town, hence is quite close to a number of restaurants. This also means you get a bit of street noise (even though we were nine floors up!)
The apartment was nice and clean, which was great. It came with a full kitchen (including dishwasher, stove and fridge) - which could be useful for families.
The furnishing in the room was fine for us (maybe a little tired looking if you were picky). There is wired internet (so bring your own wireless router!) - but prices for connection were a bit steep (Aus$ 110 for a week - but probably no worse than other hotels in Australia).
The staff were very helpful, and very nice to deal with.
The hotel had a nice looking bar area (also used for breakfast) - but due to the choice of places in Melbourne, we did not use these facilities.
So a good value overall - we would certainly consider staying again next year!

The hotel location is good, 5 minutes walk to China town and easy access to shopping, restaurants and recreation. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful, both at the reception and in the restaurant. We booked a tour to the Great Ocean Road from the hotel and the staff who attended to us was most patient and willing to help us select the tour operator that satisfied our requirements, even though she had to speak to no less than three tour operators. The hotel lobby area is spacious and hotel staff expedited check-out clearance without fuss. Transport facilities are excellent and the hotel staff are always ready to help in making arrangements for transport transfers to the airport. We would certainly stay in the hotel again at our next visit.

We stayed here in mid-August 2008 after our ski holiday on Mt Buller. The 2-bedroom apartment was perfect for our family of 2 adults and 3 young children. The apartment was spacious, beautifully appointed, clean and well located. We enjoyed the apartment so much we had dinner in our dining room all 3 nights - twice from room service (food was good) and once Chinese takeaway (good food too) from Chinatown just across the road. There were 2 toilets but only one bathroom but that was fine for us. Kitchen had everything we needed and washer and dryer were a godsend. We will definitely stay here again. And we will certainly recommend this place to all our friends. The apartment looked exactly like how they were represented on the website. The photos show the real thing.

The Saville Apartments are as spacious as we have come to expect from this group. Our single bedroom apartment was extremely roomy with a large balcony running the width of the room. The equipment was brand new and spotless and the condition of the furnishings first class. My only criticism is that, given the size of the balcony, there was no balcony furniture provided, so that if you wanted to sit outside you had to lift out the chairs from the room furniture, with the risk of them becoming damaged from repeated movement. Some inexpensive plastic chairs and a table would have improved things enormously. The restaurant was quite good, reasonably priced, offering a standard menu with specials of the day. The apartments are located on a busy city street,so do not expect any spectacular views and about 10 -15 minutes walk from Flinders Street Station and Constitution Square. If you are thinking of going to the Crown Casino in the evening, a taxi is a must and costs about $10. We would certainly use this accommodation again.

This hotel was very central - hotel staff very friendly. 5 minute walk to shopping areas and just located off China Town - lots of restaurants. 20 minute walk to the river & Southbank which had lots of really nice restaurants and great views (if you like fish - recommend Waterfront Fish Market - great food). Would definately stay there again.

We stayed 3 days in a lovely 2 bedroom, perfect for four. It was a wonderful location, easy walk to the tram and train and everything you would want to see. Highly recommend this hotel.
The best part of the hotel is...
The best part of the hotel is that it is situated right next to Chinatown where a great varieties of food are available. The hotel is also situated quite right in the centre of the city thus making it very easy to get around.
I also like to mention that I particularly liked the bacon from the hotel's cafe.
