We have stayed at the Clarion suites...
We have stayed at the Clarion suites gateway before about 2 years ago, and i'm pleased to say the standard is as goog now as it was then.The suite we had was very clean and facilities very good for my husband myself and our two grandaughters, they loved the heated swimming pool, we would recommend staying here to friends and family.

The location of the hotel is just a 10-15 minutes walk to the city centre and China Town where varieties of shops and restaurants can be found. The Crown Tower (casino) is just another 5 minutes walk from the hotel. My wife and I enjoy our stay in this hotel and we would recommend this to our friends.

The hotel was very dated and had an unpleasant smell within the corridors. Staff were very friendly and accommodating and the main entrance area was very nice. The room itself was very small and as I said dated. In comparison to all the other accommodation we stayed in within Australia this was by far the most expensive and did not come anywhere close to the quality. All in all quite disappointing.

The Clarion Suites was our home away...
The Clarion Suites was our home away from home for just one night. We booked a one-bedroom suite, and found a large kitchen, desk, sitting area, separate bedroom and a bathroom. The lap pool was great and the buffet breakfast was reasonable - nothing special with respect to the “hot choices”, but a good selection of pastries and muffins. And the location at the foot of William St at Flinders was perfect for us as we attended our works' Christmas functions at Crown, just a short stroll over the bridge all but outside the front door, and down the river past the Polly Woodside. We'll be back when next we have late-night functions in the city and want to avoid the travel home to the suburbs!

Located on the fringes of the City, on the banks of the Yarra River, close to Melbourne’s major attractions is Gateway Suites. Above average size studios and suites are very fashionably furnished (and are more like apartments), very well appointed and incredibly spacious. Floor to ceiling windows in virtually every studio/suite enable guests to enjoy the views and all rooms have a balcony. One popular restaurant provides all meals and 24 hour room service. Within walking distance to Melbourne Aquarium, Crown Casino, Shopping and the Melbourne Free Tram goes right by the front door on it’s way to circle the City.
