Overlooking the Mossman River, and set amongst 80 acres of tropical rainforest on the edge of the Daintree National park, Silky Oaks Lodge is proud to present its’ new look, combining luxury with the oldest living rainforest.
An extensive refurbishment program conducted over the past 2 years, including all 32 Deluxe Treehouses, 11 Riverhouses and main lodge & spa, is now complete with the addition of the Billabong Suites opening in April 2012.
These newly designed river view suites built of sustainable material capture nature with elevated open plan living area with custom designed furnishings, library, inclusive mini bar, Bose music system, private balcony with hammock and day bed.
All 45 treehouses include king beds, turn down service, robes and slippers, oil burners, Ipod docking stations, mini bar (inclusive in Billabong Suites), and spacious bathrooms with separate shower and spa bath. River swimming, canoes, mountain bikes, gym, tennis court, guided rainforest walks and yoga classes all complete the nature experience at Silky Oaks Lodge.
The elegantly refurbished and enhanced main Lodge, originally constructed in 1985, leads guests along a timber boardwalk to an open welcoming reception area and into the renowned Treehouse Restaurant with majestic views of the river and rainforest.
Adjacent are spacious lounge and living areas, including the Bar, reference library and the Jungle Perch, high up amongst the canopy capturing the cool of river and rainforest, ideal for a candlelit dinner, small wedding or special meeting.
The award winning Healing Waters Spa using the mineral rich waters from the Mossman river, further enhances the lodge’s commitment to customer service offering a fabulous range of treatments in 7 treatment rooms including a couple’s suite.
Popular tours such as the Mossman Gorge Kuku Yalanji Dreamtime Experience, the Indigenous Cultural Habitat Walk at nearby Cooya Beach, Great Barrier Reef day trips, and tours to Cape Tribulation and the Daintree National Park are all easily accessible from the lodge, including the lodge’s own guides for walks on lodge grounds, and own Silky Oaks Safari day tour.

Silky Oaks Lodge is a 60 minute beautiful scenic drive north from Cairns, and just 20 minutes north from Port Douglas near the township of Mossman. All transfers can be arranged by lodge staff.
