Karri Valley Resort is located in an almost enchanted valley surrounded by forests. The room we had was perched overlooking the lake. Our verandah was visited by '28s' (beautiful colourful parrots) each sunset. In the mornings, the lake was shrouded in mist.
The room was fairly basic but typical by Australian standards. Having said that, it was comfortable and cosy. The restaurant provided good food.
Staff were friendly. My only real criticism was that the front office was not ready for business by 7:00am when some of us want to head off back to Perth.
The local town of Pemberton is an absolute gem and the surrounding Karri forest a true treasure.

My wife and I stayed at the Karri Valley Resort in late April '09 and we were pleasantly surprised, especially after reading some of the not so good reviews, although most of these were prior to the refurbishments which I believe were done early/mid '08. We had a 2nd storey room overlooking the lake and it was magnificent, the room was clean and the decor was modern and everything worked as it should have. We ate at the restaurant the first night and our meals were very nice, especially dessert. The service was friendly and professional at the same time however slightly overpriced. I would have thought that canoes, mini golf, mountain bikes etc should have come with the price but at $10 per head it was not too bad. Would recommend it to anyone who asks.....

This place has a wonderful touch of nature. It gets cold in the night and perhaps an electri heater would do the trick in the bedrooms. The heater in the living room could only last that long. It would be even better if the lake view was right outside out balcony, but I couldn't complain any further. The chalet was beyond my expectations, rooms and kitchen were clean and I had a wonderful stay.
