Good place for beach lover
Great place, as is near to a beautiful beach. Room is spacious, transport is quite convenient from the perth city.

Hotel was just okay.The food at the Pines Restaurant was absolutely rubbish,would not reccommend the place to any one.We have stayed there 12months ago and enjoyed our stay but after Christmas never again.

The hotel is in an ideallic location overlooking the ocean. The receptionists and concierge were very friendly and helpful. There is a great sense of space in the hotel and everywhere was very clean. All the
staff I encountered verycourteous and friendly.
It was a lovely experience. I hope to stay there again.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend a room with an ocean view. Room was nice, spacious and clean. Bathroom was clean but getting a bit old. Bed was very comfortable and hotel and surrounds were quiet and peaceful. Pines Restaurant had great food and service.
Allocated a room on South facing wall...
Allocated a room on South facing wall of East wing meaning that it got no sun at all and faced the prevailing (strong) winds nd was directly above the main road through tijme and opposite the noisiest bar/night club in town. OK for one business night but useless for a 5 day holiday booking such as ours. TV not dusted for days and shower over the bath without any anti-slip matting - great if you are agile and under 30, which we arne't. Service in breakfast was such a joke that I had to accost a duty manager just to get an egg fried. Hotel dress code largely ignored.
Did get the room changed after a couple of days to a vastly improved room (at the same money!) and my tantrum also had the effect of producng adequate staff, including a restaurant manager, at breakfast.
This place is not 5 star as the advertising would indicate, it lost one last year, and is going the right way about losing another.
What is really good is the friendliness of the staff and the pool area both of which contributed to us enjoying the last day of our stay. If I was to return I would be very careful about rooms and much quicker to complain about service!
A disappointing hotel - not chesp but...
A disappointing hotel - not chesp but had the feel of a cheap place. Much better to stay elsewhere. Fremantle a more interesting place with better accommodation.
We stayed for 6 nights over Christmas...
We stayed for 6 nights over Christmas 2006. The hotel is in a great location and most rooms have great views of the beach which is just opposite the hotel. We had a superior room which was enormous and we appreciated the space as we were staying for the week. I would mention 2 things though - we arrived on 23rd December and the hotel was not able to cater for any of the gala meals for us over the christmas period, even though we had booked many months in advance. All tickets had been sold - many to people from outside the hotel who were coming in for the meal only. We ended up having our own buffet lunch on the balcony on christmas day and going next door to Peter's on the Beach fish & chip shop for some dinner later (excellent value for money). The other point I would mention is that housekeeping were amazingly slow to service the room - next door might get done at 10am and even though our 'Please make up the room sign' was on the door, they would clear off and do ours at a much later time. The latest it was done was 4.20pm one day even after me phoning to ask at 3pm. I don't think they had enough staff on duty and so were responding to who complained first, rather than any system that we could see. If you stay here and want to use the pool, they don't have anything like enough sunbeds either so be quick to get down there. The hotel was at the top end pricewise of any that we booked during our 10 week holiday and offers reasonable value for money, but no more than that.

Had a fantastic stay at this hotel, conciege was excellent, the bar manager, Hermon is well worth a visit to concoct one of his cocktails! What that guy knows about running a bar and the various drinks is brilliant, learnt a few things!!! All in all, we could not fault the hotel nor the staff who were always helpfull with a smile.
