At MEREDITH HOUSE great service never went out of fashion making it the perfect place to relax on the East coast of Tasmania. Built in 1853, heritage listed, colonial Meredith House and Mews has 11 rooms in total. Upstairs in the house there are six ensuite Queen bedrooms; 3 have fantastic views across Great Oyster Bay to Freycinet Peninsula. We have a comfortable guest lounge with real wood fire (in winter) where you can relax with a complimentary glass of Port or Sherry, or choose something from our extensive Tasmanian wine list which offers the best of locally produced, cool climate wines.

At Meredith House we believe a great Bed and Breakfast should provide two essentials, a great bed and a great breakfast! Our guests tell us that we serve the best breakfast in Tasmania, so to start your day the right way a full cooked breakfast is included in the room rate. We use the best, fresh Tasmanian produce and offer an extensive range of options. We are also able to cater for people with specific dietary requirements, such as vegan, vegetarian, gluten free diets or lactose intolerance. We stock soy milk, lactose free milk and gluten free foodstuffs - just let us know on your booking form so that we can better meet your needs.

In the centre of town, the house sits on a hill overlooking Great Oyster Bay. From the veranda and queen bed rooms there are sweeping views of the Freycinet Peninsula. Surrounding the property are beautiful landscaped gardens with, lawn areas, fruit trees, native and exotic plants. You may like to feed our resident, hard working chooks. We are centrally located for restaurants, shops and services.
