Our stay at Mercure Ultimo was not...
Our stay at Mercure Ultimo was not the best. We found that the hotel and room were so old fashioned and out of date. The bed was comfy but the outlook from our room was terrible. Shower was hot and powerful. The toilet did not flush and when advising the reception they were slow to repair. It subsequently broke again, after they had supposedly fixed the flusher! The price was too much for a shabby hotel.

Good choice if you appreciate a small...
Good choice if you appreciate a small hotel in a quiet area within historic/preserve setting. Not if you want a hip and trendy place. I like the fragrance of the gum tree in the front garden and the little green next to the hotel. It is still within walking distance to Darling Harbour itself. The central bus station and the central railway are both near and Sydney Explorer bus stops just on the next street. Perfect in many ways. The hotel decor is rather dull though, and he rooms are excellent for 1, O.K. for 2 but definitely not for 3.

Very pleased with service at this hotel....
Very pleased with service at this hotel. Location is fine if you do not mind a bit of a walk to get to the business section. Price good compared with others in Sydney. Quiet area. Quite adequate for our needs.

A pleasant and quiet stay.  We particularly...
A pleasant and quiet stay.  We particularly liked the feeling of a small family hotel in a quiet back street in the city of Sydney.  Many other hotels are noisy and too large.

One of the best hotels we have...
One of the best hotels we have stayed in, anywhere. The scenery is breathtaking, and the hotel has a charm all its own. Service in the dinner restaurant was dismal, with a waiter who was obviously over-trained, to the point of being obnoxious. The food however, was quite good. We would stay there ANYTIME we are in the Sydney.
