The Whitsunday's can be accessed by car from the Bruce Highway, which is the Highway servicing the East coast of Queensland, running from Cairns to Brisbane.

Dependant on conditions, driving time from Brisbane is approximately 12 hours north to Airlie Beach and 8 hours from Cairns.

Regular coach services also operate into Airlie Beach.
