Hotel great, Never using Asia Rooms again
The hotel itself is fine, one of the fancier hotels in Yangon. My problem is with Asia Rooms. Their prices are overrated. I was charged $69usd for one night (without breakfast) from the website. Once I got to Yangon for the same room plus 2 breakfasts, I was quoted $40 from various travel agents. I used to use Asia Rooms for the simplicity of booking rooms abroad but the past few times I have had very bad experiences with the website. Also Asia Rooms made me post my credit card and did not state that the hotel does not accept credit card (or it accepts credit card with a 20% increase) so I also felt misled, no one told me I would have to pay cash until I was checking out. If they were not goign to charge my credit card I would have cancelled my reservation and reserved it through a local travel agency and saved nearly half. I would recommend Seven Diamonds as they quoted me $43usd including breakfast.
Nice Hotel
The hotel was very nice. The staff are friendly, the location "within the city" is good, the food was good, and "The Music Club" had a great Filapina band with 3 hot girl singers. This location is not good for going out of the hotel at night, but then I think that would apply to any hotel in Yangon!
Highly Recommended
Service was friendly and very good although a little slow at times. Rooms were clean, a little old but not too bad. Have a tendency to play loud music every morning from about 7.30am but not a problem. Recommend staying here because the location is handy to the city and Schwe Dagon.

This is the second time I have stayed at the Plaza. An upmarket hotel that is attractive, very comfortable, and has a choice of restaurants. The staff are excellent - very friendly and helpful. The International Buffet dinner is superb, as is the breakfast (although their egg-cooking ability is very limited). The rooms are quite spacious, complimentary bottles of drinking water, tea and coffee, a minibar (although that is not cheap) and excellent room attendants. Unfortunately, the bar is overpriced, but there is the 365 bar at another hotel across the road that provides more reasonably priced drinks (and also has some good food). I cannot praise the business centre enough - the young lady there was incredibly helpful. It's location is really good - about a 10 minute walk to downtown. I think this is the best value hotel in Yangon. But, book through AsiaRooms for the best price - booking through the hotel website costs twice as much. I also recommend the ABC pub downtown for great service, Tiger beer, pretty good meals and a fantastic band from Thurs.-Sat.

We had a wonderful stay in Yangon! Food was sumptuous, staff were courteous and efficient, and our accommodation was very comfortable. Ideal for tourists and business people.

So-so hotel. Beautiful entrance and lobby, rooms are no more than moderate. Friendly staff, but you will find that everywhere else too. Do not go there if you have anything but new dollar notes. They refuse money that looks a bit old, has a scratch on it. No mastercards accepted. Personally I found much nicer hotels in town, still very reasonably priced.

Big hotel facility but small hotel feeling. Excellent rooms, service, gym and pool. Good restaurants and room service, close to Boyoke Market, Trader's. The people at the hotel really take care of you and make you feel at home. For me, the best value in Yangon. I will continue to stay there.
