Gross Misrepresentation and very poor value
Prior to our visit to The Bungalow we have never before had to post a negative review on any of the many places we have stayed during our previous twelve protracted visits to Cambodia. On our most recent visit we stayed at nine places around the country, all priced in the $30 to $40 price bracket. What we experienced at The Bungalow, in comparison to the other places was unbelievably bad.
We booked a twin bedded Luxury Suite. What we got was a doubled bedded room which by no stretch of the imagination could honestly be described as either a 'hotel suite'or 'luxurious'. For what purported to be a luxury suite it was poorly furnished and very poorly equipped (many of the accessories usually found in a Standard room, never mind a Deluxe room or a Luxury Suite were not provided in our room at The Bungalow). It was also dirty - a thick layer of dust covered the ornately carved bed head, chair backs and all shelving above head height and the balustrade of the balcony was covered in copius quantities of bird droppings. The breakfast was the worst we have experienced in over 15 years extensive travel in S.E. Asia. You are presented with a menu informing you that your íncluded breakfast entitlement is a choice of ONE free drink and ONE free food item eg one cup of tea (not even a pot) and two slices of toast (with butter but no preserve). The property is hopelessly located on the outskirts of the city along a badly rutted, muddy, unlit track.
Although we had booked for four nights we checked out after one (not without difficulty and considerable expense).
