Disapointing.
Okay, I have travelled all over the world and I don't expect much from a hotel. Just a clean room, cleaned daily, TV aircon and shower. The usual... Well after a long flight to Phnom Penh, I arrived at the hotel just after 6.30pm and then they cleaned the room. The hotel wasn't busy so I can't figure out why it was not cleaned before. The guy who was doing it was making little effort anyway. My fiancee who stayed with me wanted to check out there and then. After coming back from dinner, I noticed ants all over the floor and in the bath room. Only because I knew we were out all day Saturday, Sunday and Monday I didn't bother. On the Monday, the toilet handle broke and we left late due to a couple of long days out so we slept. She went downstairs (she is Cambodian) and she explained to the guy the room needed cleaning and the toilet handle was broken. Could they sort this before we returned. We left the hotel at 11 am and returned by 21.30. Nothing had been done. She went down and complained and then they decided to bring clean towels and fix the toilet. I was not impressed in the slightest.
The Tuesday we went down to Sihanoukville anyway but I was planing to comeback here after we returned. However, we found a hotel 5 mins walk from the riverside for $15 a night. So even cheaper than here and was much cleaner and more convienently located. From here to get to the riverside will take approx 10 minutes by Tuk Tuk.
There was no restaurant here which didn't bother me as you get better food out anyway, but you did have a small supermarket in the hotel which was ideal if you just wanted cigarettes, snack food, cold drinks or even coffee... Which wasn't that bad considering it was the basic Nescafe package stuff you get. There was also internet usage in the lobby for free, but they were having problems with it. This seemed to be a common problem at hotels in Cambodia though.
Overall, I deffinately would not stay here again. The staff were generally friendly though.
