We really enjoyed our four day stay...
We really enjoyed our four day stay at Bopha Ankor. It is a bungalow style small hotel next to the river - close enough to the Siem Reap downtown area for you to walk there - but far enough away so that you are spared most of the noise and dirt. The rooms are large and simply decorated in the traditional style, and the bathrooms clean and airy, but the accommodation would be overpriced if it was not for the garden and pool. There is a really magnificent garden and a fine restaurant. The restaurant has a good reputation, and the meal we had there was very good indeed, if a little costly. There are plenty of alternative eateries in the area, but we didnt regret eating there as a treat. The included breakfast was OK, but we would have liked more choice, and we were surprised to have to pay $1 extra for breakfast juice! It seemed unnecesarily penny pinching for hotel of this standard. Our room was air-conditioned and with a ceiling fan, and there was a TV with about 64 channels. The salt water pool was ultra clean and in a beautiful garden setting. The service was unobtrusive, courteous and helpful.

We stayed at Bhopa during 3rd to 5th August and are still remembering the magic of AngkorWat, and the smile of the lovely people. The hotel has lot of character in terms of ambience, and has a temperature controlled swimming pool that my 9-year-old son called ‘Delicious’! To me what set it apart was the excellent service (despite English not being the first language), whether it was the restaurant manager’s willingness to accommodate my mother’s vegetarian preferences, or the receptionist to make umpteen calls to fix up tickets for ‘Apsara dance’ at the last moment. Definitely recommended.

Bopha Angkor was a small,  quaint hotel.  The rooms were decorated Cambodian style, complete with mosquito nets!  (We didn't really need them, they were just part of the ambience.)  The restaurant was very good.  My husband's favorite part was having a blind masseuse come to our room for a massage.  The hotel staff was very helpful and courteous.  We would definitely stay here again.

This is a great hotel! Very quaint but clean and with a lot of character and beautifully designed. We reserved a tripple and they had it all set up for us when we arrived (thanks also to asia-hotels web site). They provide nets to sleep in. The restaurant is also excellent. The breakfast (which is included) is by far the best I had in asia. I was surprised this was a 2 star, felt much more like 3 and a half star. I recommend this hotel, if I went back to Siem Reap I would stay there again. The staff are so nice too (they gave us a very late check out and were very nice about it).

I was surprised to find this one...
I was surprised to find this one of my favorite places but only at the level of "special" room. There is no TV but no matter as the room is furnished "Khmer" style and very, very pleasant and comfortable. Another surprise here was the restaurant with terrific food and a wonderful setting, beautifully landscaped. Much better place to stay than some of the huge, tour-group size hotels in town.

The rooms are decorated very nicely, which is perhaps the most appealing aspect of the Bopha Angkor hotel. Another appeal is the Bopha restaurant, which offered the best food I had in Siem Reap. The Asian breakfast was also good. The in-room bathroom facilities, however, leave something to be desired. The water had a distinctly metallic odor; the water pressure in the shower was inadequate; and the shower head, with hose fully extended, only reached up to my neck (I'm 5'11"). Also, be aware that noise from kitchen (dishes clanging, etc.) reaches some of the rooms well into the evening and early in the morning. In sum, Bopha Angkor is a friendly little hotel with a lot of character and a great restaurant. However, with all the first class hotels cropping up in Siem Reap, you could probably get a more modern and well-maintained room for about the same price or perhaps a little more.

Bopha is set in a quiet location by the side of the river, yet only a few minutes walk from the town centre. Clean spacious rooms with good facilities by local standards. Staff attitude was great - the quality of service was impeccable. The restaurant's reputation for excellent Khmer is well deserved.

We enjoyed our stay at the Bopha...
We enjoyed our stay at the Bopha Angkor and would certainly recommend it. A small inn, they provide a more personal level of service than the larger hotels in Siem Reap, which seem to cater more to big groups. The front desk staff was congenial and helpful. The location is also a definite plus: it's on the river, and if you're so inclined, you can walk into town for lunch. Much better, we thought, than being in one of the monster hotels out on airport road. Breakfast (if not the coffee) was good: they offer a choice between Western and Asian. The restaurant at the Bopha serves very good, inexpensive Khmer food in a pleasant, tropical garden-type setting. We liked it enough that we ate dinner there twice. After an exhausting day touring the temples, it's nice and easy to have a good dinner at your hotel. My chief complaint is that the service at the restaurant was poor, particularly on one occasion when a large group was also having dinner there and the kitchen and servers evidently couldn't keep up. That said, the Bopha is still a fine option for lodging in Siem Reap.
