Angkor Village was absolutely fabulous and we...
Angkor Village was absolutely fabulous and we were glad we made this our resort of choice for our first visit to Cambodia. What first struck us was the friendliness of the staff - they made us feel so welcome by their warm smiles and the great effort in ensuring our stay is comfortable and our creature needs taken care of. We felt we could trust them enough to tell them everything immediately on our first encounter! They were quick to offer valuable travel advice. Sina, our host, was delightfully helpful. The only gripe I have was non-committal replies to enquiries on tuk-tuk fares, but to be fair, the tuk-tuks fares are rather unpredictable, and much would have depended on how hard you negotiate. The lush greeneries in the well tended garden brought nature to our doorsteps. We love the garden concept and the peace and quietness it offered. If the place is fumigated frequently to rid the garden of the mosquitoes, I think I would have enjoyed the outdoors a lot more. Getting housekeeping on the phone is a little bit of a challenge, but all you need to do is pop your head out of the main door, wait for the next chambermaid to come along and simply pose your request, and you can be sure it'll be met in double quick time. The 200m long swimming pool was a change from the norm. Swimming the whole length means you'd have covered the chalet blocks from one end to the other. It was wonderful just basking under the sun on the multiple deckchairs lining alongside the pool. All in all, a wonderful experience!

There were lots of bugs in the room. Room not cleaned very well. Shower was not easy to adjust the temperature. Bed was far too hard - like sleeping on concrete. Breakfast menu was poor. A/C was not very good. The only good thing was the staff who did try their best to be helpful.

The hotel is lovely, with very attractive rooms and a lovely bath! The grounds are beautiful too. The staff are very friendly and the baby sitting is excellent. We highly recommend Leakhena who our daughter loved and was both polite and very caring. The location may be a bit far from the centre of Siem Reap for some (cannot really walk anywhere) but with tuk tuk drivers at your service and pretty inexpensive, not really a problem. Too expensive for budget travelers, but with the beauty of the place and it's winding pool that is on every room's doorstep, worth the extra cost. We have only ticked that we are unlikely to return because we are unlikely to return to Siem Reap having seen all that there is to be seen. if we did come back we would chose this hotel again!

My husband and I really loved this hotel. The staff was so nice and provided great service. When we needed a transformer to charge our camera, the Manager immediately responded by finding us one and personally bringing it to our room. The Spa was wonderful too. We swam every day in the meandering pool and met the nicest people while swimming. Food was excellent. We would stay again for sure.

We stayed at this hotel for 3...
We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights in July 2006. I spent quite a lot of time on the internet finding the right hotel which we wanted to be traditional. This hotel filled all our expectations. Set out like a village in a long line of semi detatched villas, it's absolutely beautiful. The swimming pool runs like a river through the whole complex, must be at least a twenty minute swim to the end and back. The staff can't do enough to help, nice restaurant and bar and free internet. If you go to Seam Reap you must stay at this hotel, you won't be disapointed. We hired a driver for the 3 days that's also a must and apart from the temples take a trip in the hot air ballon that was the highlight for me.

Forget those large, boxy, typical hotel settings. This place is a fantastic change of pace and a perfect setting for your Cambodian get away! The wonderful staff and lovely setting are paradise found. You couldn't ask for a nicer place to relax after a days work walking the ruins at Angkor. I recommend Angkor Village very highly; you won't be disappointed. KT Gates-Waldrup, stayed 4 nights in October, 2005.
