"Good location (5 minutes walk to Old..."
Good location (5 minutes walk to Old Market) and very good price. No complaints about the hotel other than no hot water on the morning I was checking out but they were working on it. Also I guess they are pet friendly because I found a newt on the wall when I opened my drapes in the morning. Cute little guy. I use to get them in the house a lot when I lived in Florida.
Also liked that they had an in hotel spa. You can get a 1 hour oil massage for $12 either in your room or in the spa itself. It's open until 10:30 in the evening and it was the best massage I had on my whole trip.

We enjoyed our stay at City River. The room is clean. Just that the small pool is a slight disappointment.

Good location. About a 10 mintute taxi to Angkor Wat and about a 5-10 minute walk to shopping and restaurants.
Staff was friendly and helpful. Hotel was quiet. We only ate breakfast and I'd give the food a 7 out of 10. Rooms were clean.

"Location is very good, walking distance to..."
Location is very good, walking distance to plenty of restaurants, but nevertheless quiet area for the hotel itself. We saw the superior room, but were to glad to have the deluxe room which is much
bigger, bit more comfortable and obviously recently renovated. Room and bathroom were clean. Top roof pool is available. Breakfast is ok, but simple.

"We were delighted with our 4 nights..."
We were delighted with our 4 nights at the City River Hotel. It was perfectly located for us, being in a quiet location a short walk from the centre of town and close to the
river. The rooms were more than adequate, though the beds are very hard, and the roof top swimming pool is excellent and a real plus. Breakfast was more than adequate, though the evening menu was expensive for the town. Siem Reap has some excellent restaurants, many within easy walking distance. We chose this hotel because of its policy of actively recruiting staff with poor education and skills from a background of orphans and families living in poverty. We were not disappointed - the hotel has done a great job, because the staff, without exception, were excellent. Transport to the temples is easily arranged through reception, though if hiring a car and driver, you should ensure you are getting a reasonably new car with effective Air Con! A tip for those going to Angkor Wat and the area for the first time - invest 2 or 3 hours going through the National Museum in Siem Reap before going to the temples. The Museum is excellent and puts the whole experience in a time, cultural and religious perspective. Such a visit at the beginning will certainly enhance your trip. We will certainly use the City River Hotel if we go to Siem Reap again. Thanks to everyone at the hotel.
