Fantastic place to stay!
We loved our stay at the Shining Angkor. The room was stunning, the beds were soft and comfortable and the staff were helpful without ever being pushy. Breakfast was included with a variety of choices on offer and the hotel also provided free pick-up from the airport. The hotel is less than a 10 minute ride from town but they offer one free trip into town per day and the tuk-tuk home will only cost you $2 anyway. The pool area is small, but very nice and the hotel foyer is stunning with all the traditional wooden furniture and flowers on display. The Shining Angkor is definitely a great place to stay and feels very luxurious for a relatively small price. I would definitely stay here again...would not even bother looking at any other hotels in the area!
Good Wood Decor
Stayed for three nights. We like the staff who are very accomodating and helpful. Breakfast was free which was decent. Beds were very comfortable. Tour guide and transport was well arranged. Lobby hotel staff speaks and understand decent English. Hotel was well decorated with wooden furniture and carvings. Lobby furniture and Timber furniture were really solid, difficult to lift. No time to use the pool. Easy access to town on a tut tut. The room lighting is reasonably good but need additional lighting for brightness. Shower was great. Hotel is in very good condition. Would recommend to my friends. Was picked up at the airport and also transported on my way out to airport.
Friendly hotel
The owner and staff are very friendly and helpful and attentiv. They are cleaning all the time. Vey good value for the money.
Memorable experience
This is a small family boutique hotel with a fantastic team of staff who are always very courteous, helpful and cheerful. The rooms are very clean and homely. Location is Ok about 3 km out of town centre but travel to and fro to town is not a hassle as the hotel provides 'tutu' service. Good value for money.

From booking to leaving, the management and staff made it a real pleasure to stay here.Met us at the airport, showed us every courtesy, nothing was too much trouble. The hotel is a little way out of the Town but it makes it easier to get to the Temple sites and its a lot quieter. The room and the hotel are just perfect, local style with amazing furnishings. Local daily transport was arranged with our own tuktuk driver for $15 a day. We love the Hotel, we love the temples, we love the people, we will be back soon.

The hotel was far better then expected based on price. The staff was accommodating and helpful in every respect. They arranged our tours and provided transport at very reasonable prices. It was quiet and comfortable. It's location, about one kilometer from town, was no problem since easy transport was provided at little or no cost. Western breakfasts were excellent.

Lovely wooden interiors with high ceiling and beautiful curved wooden staircase. The foyer was very stuffy, needed to open the doors or keep air conditioning on.
Location is away from downtown Siem Reap...
Location is away from downtown Siem Reap but close to the entrance to the Angkor heritage site, but it looks to be in an up and coming area given some of the development in the surrounding area. Not all tuk-tuk/taxi drivers know the location by name, so best be prepared with a map.
Hot water reservoir, individual for each room is a bit small for my taste and hairdryers are not provided in the rooms, best to ask ahead of time as the concierge desk is not 24hrs.
