I was very impressed with almost everything at the Mekong angkor palace, well placed close to the centre of town, only ten minutes walk, but not to close to be noisy( just off the main st, nice and quiet location).
The room was well equipped and spacious with en-suite bathroom.
i didn't get chance to eat there, so couldn't comment.
Overall very impressed with the whole experience and found all the staff to be most helpful and accommodating.
Would most definitely stay again!
The hotel is tucked away down an alleyway which made it difficult to find. I have been to Siem Reap several times before and stayed at various types of accommodation - this was an average hotel compared to others. The pool is the drawcard here though - it is sparkling clean with nice areas to sit around and relax. Breakfast was included but was a little disappointing with just bread rolls, eggs and a small plate of fruit on offer. I booked 2 rooms for myself and my partner and my son and his girlfriend. The 2 rooms were of totally different standards - 1 was smaller with no bath - and far apart from each other. My son ended up changing his room and was happier after the move. My partner became annoyed that our TV remote wouldn't work and after 4 attempts, 2 battery changes and an exchanged remote, gave up trying to make it work. The staff are friendly, the rooms are clean, the pillows are soft (just the way I like them!) :) and the location is fairly central. The hotel is good value for the cost of the room and the pool is a bonus.
We had booked a deluxe room, on arrival we were given a ground floor room. The room's window looked out onto the entrance forecourt where the tuk tuks waited.
We queried the room, informing them that we believed we had booked a room overlooking the pool, with a balcony.
We were advised none of these rooms were available.
very friendly and heplfull staff. lovely pool and airconditioned room, could use more and softer towels. spacious clean room. central location. tasty and reasonably priced food. would definately recommend.
We absolutely loved staying at the Mekong Angkor Palace Hotel. The rooms were spacious and clean and the staff were helpful and friendly. The hotel restaurant has great options and fantastic food. The pool was great and never overcrowded. The location of the hotel was perfect. We have no complaints whatsover and would have no hestitation recommending this hotel to anyone travelling to Siem Reap.
We enjoyed our stay here for 4 reasons. Firstly, the staff were very friendly and helpful.Secondly the room was reasonably clean and spacious although the towels did not really smell fresh. The queen sized bed and single bed suit us very well as there were 3 in the family.Thirdly, the location was great being just a five minute - walk from the bustling night market and only 20 minutes by tuk tuk to Angkor Wat.It was not noisy so we could sleep very well.Fourthly, there was a free pick up to and from the airport which is only 30 minutes away by tuk-tuk.
Mekong Angor Palace is situated right where one wants to be, in Siem Reap. Being close to the airport and the middle of town i.e. within 5 minutes walking distance to night markets etc, and close to most of Angor historical treasures. This is an easy to find and a pleasant and neat place to stay with friendly and helpfull staff. A beautiful swimming pool provides comfortable place to take mid day siestas!
