The location is good as it is within short walking distance to the market, shops and restaurants. A good value for money.

A lovely hotel, in a lovely location, with lovely staff. The inhouse restaurant is also excellent. Only problem during my stay was that there was just one lift which was undergoing extensive maintenance. They was also some noise from building extensions and constructing a swimming pool. But overall recommended.

Overall a lovely hotel. Was disappointed to find out there was no pool, when one is shown in the pictures, then to find out you had to pay for the one next door. Very clean hotel, located by the river, which was a 10 minute walk into town. Service was great. Would stay here again.

When we arrived at the hotel a day earlier than booked, we were lucky enough to get a room as the hotel was almost fully booked. The staff were very helpful.
My husband and I couldn't believe the value for money we got at this hotel - having come from Pnom Penh and paid a similar amount for a very basic hotel!
As the pool wasn't ready until later in 2007 we used the pool at the hotel next door, which was lovely.

This hotel near Center market and Old Market, convenient for shop around. Hotel aircorn depend on your luck my room is cold; but my friend is not.

Got a bad experience with the hotel counter services, we ask them to book a Tuk tuk for us to go airport in the morning, he ask us to paid first for the fees
but didn't wirte receipt for us.
That day morning, Tuk tuk driver ask for driving fees from us again, make us shock. We complaint to that day duty counter srvices person, they didn't appologies to us and just said they willl settle for us.
About the fees of Tuk tuk at the first tiem we ask is US 5 dollar, but at the time we want to paid he ask us how much we can paid, that means wanna us to paid more, that counter services people really too much.
But overall is OK for this hotel.

Room and location were fine, but the front desk staff made several blunders with bookings etc. An example of this was that we had booked an English speaking guide to accompany us to the temples and a French speaking guide showed up. This left us guiding ourselves around Angkor Temples. We didn't get an apology and felt as though the staff really weren't bothered about their mistake.

The City River Hotel was a great place to come back to after a day of riding a bicycle around the ruins. The shower worked well, with good lighting and water pressure. The bed was comfortable, the air conditioning right, and it was within walking distance of great dinners.
The breakfasts at the hotel were abundant with food choices each morning, with enough coffee to wake us early, and variety morning to morning. The service was polite.
Internet access was cheap and available without a wait.
