I stayed at xin ming ji last...

I stayed at xin ming ji last week when it was undergoing renovation. The elevator was not in use,the carpets on the corridors were full of concrete dust and the workers put wet rugs which made it more muddy. The hotel has no english name outside. Difficult to locate since the entrance was covered by gi sheets where there was ongoing digging. My room (319)needed a major renovation. All instructions in the room were in chinese,even the remote control was in chinese..the bedcovers and the chairs looked very old.the table drawers were dilapidated. The bathroom door was broken and the doorknob was about to fall with some plastic bags inserted in just to hold it in place (this was the worst thing). There was no reading light. Very inconvenient to wait for the staff to open your door since they don't give keys. Room size was good enough.toiletries were provided adequately. A 36"tv set was a welcome treat. In terms of location, the place is along main streets and close to some decent eateries and 24hours shop.if you are on a budget travel the place is okey as long as you brace yourself with the mentioned shortcomings.

The rate I paid for is about...

The rate I paid for is about 1000 baht a night. When booking there was no picture of room for viewing which is very important. The hotel is not located on the main road but hidden in a small passage. Infront of the small passage had only hotel name in chinese. At check-in counter, the reception speak poor english. I showed reception booking confirmation and was given room card,no key given. I was allocated to room on the second floor next to the housekeeping counter which is directly facing the stairs.Behind the housekeeping counter, there was a renovation going on. There was breaking down of concrete wall and dust everywhere. I showed housekeeper room card and she open room for me for the time I stay there. The room was rather old which need immediate renovation. Infact the whole hotel is under renovation! Not good to stay at the moment. See again when renovation is complete. For location vise,rather accessible. At main road, have bus no.104 dock at railway station.
