Good for Backpackers
A a couple traveling back to the UK we expected a better class of hotel from the description on the website. We could not stay at this hotel because it was no where near our expectations. clean but very basic (more suited to backpackers). We checked in and then out again forfeiting a nights accommodation and moved to another hotel for a similar price which was definately close to a 4* rating
Pefect location, small and personal!!
The hotel lives up to what a small luxury hotel should be. My shang fang was while small, was just fine. The hardwood floors, are such a nice touch in a hotel. The bathroom, nicely sized
The room was very small. The hotel advertises as 4 * but no where near that.
very difficult to find - two taxi drivers were unable to find the place which is a little frustrating when your flight gets in late and all you want to do is get to the hotel and go to bed.
The room smelt bad. As you enter the room there is a toilet and shower immediately inside the door and then you walk past to get to the bed. There was a very bad smell from the toilet.
No storage space to place your belongings or clothes.
I saw no other guests at the hotel.
No one spoke English or understood me which made things a little difficult. I believe that if a hotel has a website in English to attract international guests then they should be able to communicate on arrival.
Location was near a sub-way but a very long walk from Forbidden city and tourist attractions.
Nice to stay in an old courtyard building but I am sure there are better ones.
The wallpaper was peeling off, they advertise that they have cd and dvd players in the rooms but there are not any there.
