excellent hotel and location
This hotel was very clean and as i am travelling by myself the room was plenty big enough. Lobby of the hotel had free wifi. The hotel is within walking distance of many parks and markets. Longtan park is just across the road and is very beautiful. The subway station is a bit of a walk maybe 15 maxbut the busway is right next to hotel. It is also close to a bank the post office and a love fresh fruit and vegetable market. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay and would recommend sicily hotel to anyone looking for budget accommodation in a wonderful location.
Simple hotel, okay location....
We stayed at the beijing Sicily hotel for two nights. The quality of the room was fine however the location wasn't fantastic. We arrived via the subway and had a 15/20 min walk with heavy bags as no taxi would take us for the short trip.
The location is fine for visiting the Temple of Heaven and Pearl Market but is not much good for other attractions.
The staff were fine, with a basic amount of english which made checking in and checking out easy.
Overall, not bad.

If arriving from the airport, get the airport shuttle bus into town and alight at Ciqikou station, then you can get the underground train one stop to Tiantandongmen. The hotel is about a 10 minute walk from there, avoid a taxi if possible, it could land you a huge fare.
There are a couple of members of staff who can speak fairly good English, so if you need directions or need to enquire about stuff you can do. The hotel restaurant is ok, the prices are reasonable and there is a lot of food to choose from, although fairly obscure. If you wish to eat more western style foods then there is a French bakery, kfc and Mcdonalds close to the underground station.
We booked a double room, but got given a tiny twin room. When we challenged the staff about this, they happily changed our room the next day, and it was a tad bigger!

Beijing Sicily Hotel
One of the most important pros about this hotel is its location. It is very conveniently located, which is I must admit the main reason for my choosing the hotel. It is located some 800m from the Temple of Heaven, the Temple of Heaven Park and the famous Pearl Market. Those attractions are great to go to on their own, the Pearl market being the ideal place for shopping, but they are also provided with the excellent subway line 5 which is thus close to the hotel. Within walking distance you therefore have a connection to the entire city of Beijing for the fare of 2yuan per person rather than having to rely on taxis. There are good, even great, restaurants closeby and they are very reasonably priced. I have eaten a good meal with several dished for two people for around 70 yuan in this vicinity.
The hotel staff are very friendly and try to be helpful. The level of English is not great, but they do make the effort and especially the friendly female receptionist tried her utmost to communicate. They were friendly and helpful to any queries we had and solved some problems very efficiently. The room which I had booked for 198yuan was excellent value for money. Not large, but big enough for two people, the bathroom was small but provided all the necessary equipment, and most importantly was very clean. the room itself was very clean as well and the in room broadband connection was good. I would strongly recommend this hotel!
