Inability to speak the language hampers communication
Overall, I had a great stay at Traffic Hotel and would return; in fact, I tried to book again for this week but found they are already full.
I had booked a room on the net without knowing that the room had no bath. When I arrived, the hotel reception was uncooperative and unwilling to resolve the problem. They spoke no English, although willingly called someone from an adjacent hostel to translate. Still, they suggested that I go elsewhere or upgrade to a room with bath if I chose.
When I insisted on speaking with the manager, she too offered no assistance and insisted that the shared bath issue was mentioned on the internet site, although it was later confirmed that it was not. She was dismissive and unhelpful.
Nonetheless, the room was very comfortable, freshly painted and very clean. Housekeeping cleaned and replaced towels daily. The shared toilets, showers and wash sinks were close by and cleaned several times daily by housekeeping.
The room was furnished with a queen size bed, firm mattress, nice bed linens and comfortable pillows. The room was sufficiently large that I could spread out my yoga mat and do my practice.
The reception/management issue aside, this is a great value for money -- very conveniently located near metro, tourist bus station, restaurants (local and otherwise) and right on the river. It's walking distance of many sites you might want to visit. If you're a traveler looking for tourist info, the adjacent Traffic Inn Hostel can schedule for you.
