What Spring??
It looked really good in the pictures and with its central location notwithstanding the reviews abt hard beds - we bravely ventured forth.
Check in was horrible - we waited a gd 5 minutes at the check in counter with t clerks there nary one bothered to look up to acknowledge much less attend to us. We were right in frontof the Counter. Only other hotel guest was another guy who had some probs with his bill or somethg and they were all attending to him. Crazy.
I didnt speak gd Mandarin so I prompted my friend to just ask aloud for some service, One of them finally condescended. She cldnt find our reservation booking despite my giving her the email print out fron asiarooms. Another more senior clerk then took over and finally (after another 5 minutes) confirmed our rooms as booked . She added that thr was a 6 yuan per day charge over and abv the internet pricing. The signing of credit card precharge of 1000 yuan and the h/o of room keys were efficient tho.Phew!
Hotel room is ok - yup - hard bed but that's perfectly fine by me - had been forewarned. 2 pillows - great - and a hot spring water tap in the bath - touted to be piped up 830m from below the grd. Great - its was a 57 degress celcius and the signs in the bathroom warned that it cld be hot - and not drinkable.
You can forget aout the hotspring spa - its not even in the hotel but outside above the carpark undergrd exit - its just 2 small pools, some deck chairs , an attendant, some steel lockers and a wall mural. Definitely not worth a try nor the 30 yuan fee. We trooped back in our slippers and shorts disappointed. The so called spa on the 6th floor fared worse. Where was the jacuzz with jap-styled shower stalls ard it, the steam cabin and rubback facilities? Apparently the pics in the website are not of theplace,. All we saw was a run down gym; a dark musty reception area n run down massage area. Steam room outta commission. Go figure. :(
