Very nice hotel but spoilt by the attitude of the front-desk staff. Bit of a mystery here ! On my first visit, I was with a female (chinese) friend - I had booked a room for each of us and we were given adjacent rooms - they then 'phoned me to ask if they could move my friend to another room - I found this strange and unpleasant.
On my second visit a week later, again with the same friend, I asked for adjacent rooms. On this occasion they refused on the pretext that they didn't have any available and my friend was given a "smoking" room three floors from mine.
I don't like mysteries and I didn't like the attitudes of the front-desk staff which I thought surly and unwelcoming - there was no "please" or "thankyou" and on the whole they were unsmiling, brusque and unpleasant.
But otherwise the hotel was everything that one would expect of a first-class hotel with fine rooms and good food.
