clean and reasonably well located in pudong, it is ideal for a business traveller.
i would suggest that the hotel include internet access and breakfast in the room rates as it appears to be a penny-pinching act to make them additional.
however, my rate from asiarooms included both so well done them

Absolutely fantastic! If you want to feel like a King the right choic for you is st regis hotel.
We were in this hotel for 24 hours .. The room was beautiful with all the comforts possible and imaginable. In pool not missing anything: big soft towels, slippers, shower with jacuzzi, fresh water and bathroom set. The gym is equipped with the most modern equipment and frozen towels to freshen up after the training. The staff is efficient and ready to fulfill your every desire. Returning to shanghai choose once again st regis hotel.

When I checked in as a memeber of Starwood prefered guests I was automatically upgraded to the excecutive level, free breakfast use of the excecutive lounge which was excellent for all my business meeting and not to mention the happy hour. I was very impressed with the decor the level of service and the standard of the service as well as very friendly and helpful staff. The only slight draw back is that if you have business that otherside of the city then be prepared to spend a lot of time in taxi's.
I would deffinately consider staying there.

Fantastic hotel in a great location. A real 5 star hotel with butler service but not as good as the st regis Beijing.

I was pleasantly surprised with the cleanliness and extra values I found with this hotel. Bathroom supplies were provided very generously while many hotels supply minimum. Only request I have is the smoking policy. I hope they will prohibit the smokers from the dining areas (I am aware though it is not a city's ordinance).
I definitely will stay at this hotel when I visit Shanghai next time.
St Regis has really lived up to...
St Regis has really lived up to it's reputation as a luxury hotel chain. I felt totally pampered during my stay @ St. Regis. The room is huge & spacious, with a bathroom that matches the room in size! Only complaint are the pillows which tend to be quite flat. But i guess this is subjective.
The Herman Miller chair @ the study table is very comfortable & allows me to work with great ease. Internet access, both wireless & via LAN, is an absolute necessity for me & available on a complementary basis. It's Great for business traveller!
Entertainment facilities is better than average. The Bose CD player cum alarm clock is a very nice touch. Great for people like me who loves music. I am able to choose to play my fav music or listen to the local radio stations.
Main complaint is the buffet breakfast. The selection & taste is of average standard, & does need improvement.
Overall, this is a great hotel to stay. Compared to other luxury hotels in Shanghai, St. Regis is value for money.

Free internet, cable and wireless, Executive Lounge,
Butler service, huge rooms, huge bathrooms all extremly well appointed.

Pudong is replete with very good and...
Pudong is replete with very good and very modern hotels. Perhaps the optimum positioning for a hotel is closer to the river than the St Regis so that the amazing views across to Shanghai are available to at least some of the rooms but, for quality of service, the St Regis is hard to beat.
The public rooms of the St Regis also take a lot of beating whilst some of the other hotels are less accomplished in terms of their architecture.
My only criticism is over the expense. I elected to pay extra for the Horizon service which provides access to a fully serviced lounge where breakfast and light all-day meal service is available. This is a great additional facility but comes at a high price. In addition, there is an Italian restaurant on a top floor which served impeccable Italian food but at a price that was really out of this world.
