Good location, decent accomodation..just a few things to fix
I stayed in the New Harbour Apartments with a few uni friends after a university course. The location was great, but the room was freezing no matter what we did, it just got colder and in the middle of winter this wasn't great.
The room was only cleaned when we asked for it to be cleaned at reception, and when we asked they gave us a lot of attitude. The staff's english was very poor and getting around with very difficult.
Overall the place was OK - decent sized room's and great location.

Water Nightmare!
We stayed 5 nights over X'mas period. This service apartment 's service is almost non-existed. In the kitchen, there's a water dispenser that provide both hot & cold water but hot water could hardly dispense anything...everyday on our way out we would remind the reception counter to rectify. On 3rd day, they changed another dispenser...we thought we could finally make hot tea in cold weather but to our dismay the machine dispense 'tea' by itself without us mixing with tea bags!!! That damn machine was stained internally!!! Only on our 5th and last night and after we made a lot of noises than they changed a good water dispenser...
Luckily there were supermarkets nearby where we could buy drinking water and hot drinks. That's the only positive of this service apartment...located centrally.

Value for money!
First we got an apartment in the 6th floor which was close to other rooms under renovation. This meant that the noise from the construction work was so loud that sleeping after 8 am was impossible. After asking the staff for another apartment, we got one without any arguing in the 22nd floor which was a executive suite. So the value for money was unbeatable.
Only issue(this is valid for whole China)is that heating in winter is only possible with the air conditioner and that does not help a lot as the windows are not air-tight.

Good Hotel, Bad service
The hotel is good for the value and is located at the heart of Shanghai City. We basically can walk to most of the city attractions.
The downside is the bad service provided by the hotel. In particular, Do not ask the hotel to book a taxi for you. They are very dodgy and almost want to force us to take a private no license taxi to get to the airport. We insisted that we won't use it and the boy was very rude and also do not want to give our luggage back!
