Richie Pramuunpour from the AsiaRooms.com Bangkok office tells us the 5 best restaurants in Bangkok to wine and dine when you’re in town.
Bangkok is not a new city on the tourism world map, but there is so much growth in this big city every year that there is always something new to amaze you. As a Bangkokian with lots of friends visiting from many parts of the world, I love to recommend some of the most stylish and best restaurants in Bangkok.
Before I start listing, please forget about Chinatown, Khao San Road or pavement foods because many blogs have mentioned about these and everyone knows how cool these places are (and I love them too!) But I just need to show you something different, so here are five trendy and stylish restaurants in Bangkok:
1. Long Table
I presume that everyone knows about this restaurant, as it’s quite a famous place in town and Bangkokians like me would want to go there at least once. In my personal points; comfortable but posh, it’s like a private place that you can’t get in if you aren’t invited but in the same time you feel relax with environment like you are in your living room with awe-inspiring sight, the place is not too light. I really love it….and do you know why it’s called Long Table? Very easy! Because there is a 25-metre long dining table in the restaurant, and even the restaurant’s official Thai name is the longest one in Thailand (or maybe in the world!). Long Table is located on the 25th floor of Column Bangkok, open daily from 5pm-2am.

Have you heard about this popular program on our local Channel 7 called Iron Chef Thailand? Well, the big chef from this program is the co-owner of this restaurant. The thing I love most about this place is that the waiters are really helpful and know almost everything about their dishes. They were able to recommend, highlight and answer specific questions about their menu. And speaking about their food, it is absolutely heavenly. You have to try it yourself, it’s super recommended. I also need to tell you that it might be difficult to find them because it does not look like a restaurant at the front. Look at the picture below, I hope it helps you to imagine what the entrance looks like.

Quince is another new restaurant in town, located on Sukhumvit soi 45. It’s open daily from 11:30am – 1:00am, and this eatery is quite unique to anywhere else because they serve various kinds of cuisine like Italian, Moroccan, Spanish/Basque, tapas, sandwiches and vegetarian food. I really love the food here as it’s very healthy and they use quality ingredients. Despite the poor resolution photos here, I can guarantee you that the food is good!

4. The Local
Have you ever tried original Thai food before? And if so, do you love it? If you’re really a fan of local Thai food, then I suggest this brand new Thai restaurant in the heart of the business center along Sukhumvit soi 23. We have many popular Thai restaurants in Bangkok and this one is getting more and more famous right now, serving up unique Thai dishes and a whole variety of other dishes that I would recommend. Just don’t forget to tell them if you can’t take spicy food.

5. Above Eleven
Above Eleven is a rooftop bar and restaurant which serves a fusion of Peruvian and Japanese food. Situated on the 33rd floor of Fraser Suites Sukhumvit, the interior decor is inspired by New York’s Central Park. Guests will be able to enjoy their food and feel relaxed because of the cosy decor and stunning views of Bangkok city (even from the restrooms). If you’re heading to Above Eleven, I recommend that you reserve a table, otherwise you might get the counter bar seat.
