Milda Ratkelyte, Community Manager at AsiaRooms.com, goes in search of the best rooftop bars in Singapore and presents us her ultimate list.
Despite Singapore’s heat, humidity and frequent heavy downpours, the booming number of rooftop bars here have spoilt us for choice. There’s everything from comfortable lounges to unwind after a long day, intimate couple hideouts for a bit of romance or bars with views of bright orange sunsets over the Singapore skyscrapers. So my Kiwi friend and I went on a mission in search of the best of the best rooftop bars in Singapore for you to chill, drink or party away.
First stop – the famous 1 Altitude. We were greeted by live music and attentive staff suggesting a wide range of the chef’s creative cocktails as we entered the highest open space rooftop bar in the world. Located on the 63rd floor of One Raffles Place Building, the bar completely overwhelmed me with its stunning views of the unfolding cityscape.
What to drink: THE NARCISSIST $18 (Russian Standard vodka + peach + freshly squeezed lime + rosemary-infused raspberries)

Ku De Ta
As soon as the lift doors opened, we were immersed in the picturesque surroundings of the sunset view from 257m above sea level. Located within the Marina Bay Sands SkyPark, Ku De Ta is a classy club, bar and restaurant that was originally founded in Bali. The place has a serene beach-like atmosphere (despite being on high ground) where you can enjoy carefully-crafted drinks.
What to drink: Lady Be Mine S$20 (Martini with lychee + rose water + apple juice)
Recommended for: Hangout with friends, party
Where to find it: SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands Hotel, North Tower, 1 Bayfront Avenue; nearest MRT Bayfront
This is one of our personal favourites. Resting atop the refurbished 1924 Art Deco building, this rooftop bar offers the perfect spot to bond in a cozy sanctuary while enjoying panoramic views of bustling Chinatown. We felt like we were being pampered in a Spa and staff were very attentive and friendly. I happily indulged in my Naughty Scarlet while enjoying the privacy and intimacy of the candle-lit atmosphere and the light breeze.
What to drink: Naughty Scarlet
Recommended for: Romantic dates, chill out
Where to find it: 33 Erskine Road, The Scarlet Hotel; nearest MRT Tanjong Pagar
This contemporary Japanese bar and restaurant is a sweet spot that oozes noise and funk from the minute you enter the lift. It was super crowded (but hey, it was at late Friday night) yet we managed to get a table. I was admiring the floor mural by tattoo artist Chris Garver of Miami Ink fame and one of Singapore’s most respected urban artists ANTZ whilst my partner in crime was getting the drinks.
What to drink: Spicy Hatchimitshu $18 (vodka + honey Umeshu + Wasabi Gomme + fresh lemon + Japanese cucumber)
Recommended for: Hang out with friends, after-work drinks, chill out
Where to find it: 70 Collyer Quay #02-02, Customs House; nearest MRT Marina Bay or Raffles Place
Fabrika is another personal favourite. Perched on the 17th floor of the Klapsons Boutique Hotel, Fabrika welcomed us with exotic décor that features lovely mosaic tables, white daybeds with cushions, jewelled candleholders and Bedouin-like canopies. So pick your seat of preference to enjoy the breeze, stunning views of Sentosa and to watch the ships quietly lined up at the PSA port. This bar is by far the winner for live music performances and happy hour offers (1 for 1 until 8pm)!
What to drink: Black Infinity S$20 (Chivas 18 + Kahlua + apple syrup + ginger ale)
Recommended for: Hangout with friends, after-work drinks, chill out
Where to find it: 17/L Klapsons Hotel, 15 Hoe Chiang Road; nearest MRT Tanjong Pagar
This rooftop bar is a playful space, filled with caged trees and colourful lights. We enjoyed an easy-going, artistically-inclined crowd here with specially-crafted Southeast Asian cocktails. We sat on the leather loungers enjoying the views of Singapore’s skyline and chatting the night away. I recommend you try at least a few unique Asian Fusion cocktails!
What to drink: Java Ginger Crush S$17 (Vodka + ginger liqueur + cloudy apple juice + calamansi juice + sliced ginger + ginger beer)
Recommended for: Hangout with friends, after-work drinks
Where to find it: 331 North Bridge Road, 03-07 Odeon Towers; nearest MRT City Hall
This is an absolutely lovely little hidden gem! We experienced highly-personalised service from knowledgeable and good-humoured staff, while soft jazz floated over eight wooden tables on the tiny balcony facing Masjid Sultan’s golden dome. This 1980s Japanese-style rooftop bar is definitely a pick for starry-eyed lovers on a date.
What to drink: Create Your Own Cocktail $22. Just tell the waiter what flavours you fancy and they will mix you something that’s going to blow your mind.
Recommended for: Romantic dates
