The Taj Mahal is without a doubt the icon of India and the country’s number one attraction. As a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the seven wonders of the world, the white marble masoleum was built by Emperor Shah Jahan for his beloved wife, Mumtaz Mahal.

With 28 other UNESCO World Heritage Sites dotted around the country such as Agra Fort, the Sun Temple in Konark and the churches and convents of Goa, India is so rich in culture and history that it takes a lifetime to explore them.

Its seven regions and 28 states makes India a country of incredible contrasts, as one can see from the beautiful and mountainous Himalayan North to the tropical forests and backwaters of Southern India.

With everything from the ancient to the modern, the rural to the city, and the hinterlands to the coast – India is truly incredible and must be experienced by any traveller.
