Cairo Visit
Excellent location in a 'quieter', greener, central Cairo area and value for money. Breakfasts were great and the pub bar was a welcome oasis after a long day of sight-seeing. The Nile view room we had was very comfortable and clean and the room staff were very good. A couple of people on the reception desk however must have been trained by Basil Fawlty and could have been more helpful and friendly. Don't book tours at the desk...they are over priced and include a sizeable commission for the hotel. Better to day-hire one of the local tourist guides who park their cars nearby. They have good English, know Cairo intamitely, can tailor a trip for you, and are much cheaper than doing it through the hotel. Would go back gain.
