The Royal Oak Pub with Rooms , Lostwithiel

Hotel Description

Welcome to the Royal Oak, Lostwithiel. Well-known westcountry publicans, John Milan and Steve Bellman, bought the pub in 2011 completely refurbishing it and opened for business in July.
As with their other pubs, John and Steve have worked hard to preserve the character of the building by refurbishing and decorating in a sympathetic style.
A public house for over 100 years, the Royal Oak is in Duke Street, Lostwithiel – convenient for the pretty town centre, yet quietly situated away from main roads.
Today, you'll find a warm welcome from managers Lucie Brightwell and Nathan Gibson. The Royal Oak has a traditional 'tap room' with wonderful old flagstone flooring with, so local historians claim, 'large boulders' underneath!
The dining area is extensive yet cosy, with a secluded area ideal for meetings and functions for up to 20 people.
The Royal Oak has four cask conditioned local ales on tap and an extensive wine list.
The menu changes daily and our chef, Simon Kennard, uses only fresh, local and seasonal ingredients in his dishes.
With its own parking and free wi-fi, the Royal Oak is a great venue for business meetings or working lunches.
Upstairs, the Royal Oak has six delightful en-suite bedrooms. We regularly have guests who are visiting popular nearby attractions including the Eden Project, The Gardens at Heligan and the National Trust's Lanhydrock House.
Dog friendly - Lucie and Nathan's dog, Ollie, may well be around greet you on your arrival, or he might be off enjoying a snooze. Well-behaved dogs are very welcome at the Royal Oak, as the jar of dog biscuits on the bar confirms.
The Royal Oak is open from 11am to 11pm every day of the week and serves food from 12noon to 3pm and from 6-9pm every day.

Food & drink
Our chef, Simon Kennard, uses only fresh, local and seasonal ingredients in his dishes and the menu changes daily. Cornwall is a wonderful area for fresh produce with the coast and its fish and shellfish close by, and meat and game coming from the county's extensive farming community.
As well as a range of starters, main courses and desserts, we also serve light lunches, baguettes and salads.
Food is served every day from 12 noon to 3pm and from 6-9pm.
We are also happy to cater for weddings, parties or business meetings, buffets or sit down meals – please contact Lucie on 01208 872552 to discuss your specific requirements.
The Royal Oak is a free house and has four cask conditioned local ales on tap. It also stocks the very popular Cornish Rattler cider. The extensive wine list features a good range of wines available by the glass.
We also serve Suki teas, including some amazing fruit and herbal teas, and the very excellent Matthew Algie coffee.
