On the first...
We stayed for 15 nights
On the first night, our room was on the ground floor (second last room, room 128)and we had a scare when someone tried to get in from the back slide door (0415 hrs)
We called security and they responded quite quickly
We asked to be relocated to the first floor for the rest of our stay and there was no promblems
The service overall, front desk,room cleaning, restaurant,operations and tours assistance were all very good
We visit every 1-2 years for 2-3 weeks and have stayed at Raffles Gateway(2),Naviti(1),Hideaway(1) and Nadi Bay(2) but definitely will consider staying at Mercure again
Now close to retirement we would like to visit more often

During April 2010, stayed 2 nights en route &on return from Hawaii, 1st night my wife &I had to change rooms twice, leaking roof in bathroom &front door wasn't secure &then air-con didn't work,3rd time lucky though,our other 2 rooms for other family members were ok though
on way back,again our room air-con no good again, 2nd room,was fine, then sheets hadn't been changed though, hairs &dirty pillow, again other 2 rooms were ok;
despite these issues, place was fine, good pool & a pleasant place to stay overall, staff were always helpful &pleasant, we had a late check out made complimentary because of our troubles;
as it was very hot on both stays, the air-cond was critical to your enjoyment
in summary, place was good to fine, but needs plenty of maintenance,has been let run-down; meals, breakfast etc were good

Clean, recently renovated, great location, friendly staff. This is my third stay here and it gets better each time. Previously I just spent a day or two here before and after my flights. This time it was a week. A good place to start your many tourist activities and also a good place to come back to and rest. The pool and surrounding areas were always free to enjoy and never seemed crowded even when the hotel seemed pretty full. The staff were always welcoming and had helpful advice to ensure you enjoyed your stay in Fiji. The breakfast although not spectacular was good value if you had an Accor Card. I will be going back and so will my friends that I introduced Fiji too on this trip!

On arrival the welcome received by reception staff was very good, as was the service by porter with bags to the room. The complex has a very pleasant pool area. In the evening we found the atmosphere in the restaurant to be excellent, the staff very friendly and the food scrumptious. The burning lamps in the area added to a very island feeling. I definately would recommend this hotel to anyone on a budget and to those people who are overnighting before travelling to an island resort the next day. The transfer service was also excellent, as was the service provided to book activities within Fiji.
