Hotel Quai Voltaire, Paris

Hotel Description

Located across from the Louvre along the Left Bank of the Seine, the Hotel du Quai Voltaire offers cosy and friendly accommodations in the heart of Paris. Our hotel will delight you with its modern comfort and inviting atmosphere. The wide range of services offered – rare for a hotel in its category – will fulfil your expectations.

The Hotel du Quai Voltaire will also captivate you with its historic past. An ancient abbey built in 1780 and modified several times since the Revolution, this building was entirely refurbished in 1851 and transformed into a hotel, which it remains to this day. Baudelaire settled here from 1856 to 1858 while writing “Les Fleurs du Mal” and Wagner resided here while completing his opera “The Mastersingers of Nuremberg”. Many other public figures such as Pissaro, Oscar Wilde, Sibelius, Hemingway, Rainer Maria Rilke, Philippe Soupault, Pierre Reverdy and Antoine Blondin were among the famous guests of the Hotel du Quai Voltaire. The spirit of these great men remains to this day.

The proximity of the Louvre, the Musée d’Orsay and Saint-Germain-des-Prés, the Seine which flows beneath its windows, the bookshops and antique dealers along the quays … lend the Hotel du Quai Voltaire a prestigious and very Parisian setting.
