The Mill Gite: 3 ( + 2 annexe) Bedrooms

Sleeps 6/7 & cot ( + 4 annexe)


The Mill Gite has been converted from the old mill barn into a spacious and comfortably furnished, well-equipped gite of character. There is a large open fireplace with working bread oven in the living room, beamed ceilings, tiled or wooden floors and shuttered windows in keeping with a typical French style property. The roomy interior has been tastefully decorated and feels light and airy. The thick walls tend to retain heat in winter but stay relatively cool in summer. The kitchen is equipped with; gas hob and oven, fridge and freezer, microwave, coffee maker, kettle, toaster, dishwasher and washing machine, along with the usual crockery and cook/bake ware. For those travelling with young children the gite is equipped with blender, highchair, changing mat and sink/toilet step.

Ground Floor: Entrance area leading into Living room with large open fireplace, Dining room/Kitchen, Bathroom with separate wc.

First Floor: Bedroom 1 with king size bed and additional single or cot (if required), Bedroom 2 with king size bed, Bedroom 3 with two single beds, Shower-room with wc.

Gite Annexe: 2 Bedrooms

Attached to the gite, with it's own ground floor entrance, is a spacious converted two storey annexe.

Ground Floor: Living room with door to staircase, leading to the first floor.

First Floor: Landing area giving access to the first floor accommodation, Bedroom 1 with king size bed, Bedroom 2 with two single beds, Shower-room with wc.


Housekeeping

All bed linen and towels are provided. Heating, electricity and water are included in the holiday price. Dishwashing tablets, washing-up liquid, clothes washing liquid, soaps at the sinks and general cleaning materials are provided for your convenience.

Entertainment

The property is equipped with a selection of books and DVD's for both children and adults, board games and childrens games and toys for your use.

Information Pack

A comprehensive pack of local, and further afield, tourist information is supplied in the property, along with brochures and information on dining out, and local maps. Also included is the usual useful information on supermarkets, taxis, pharmacies, doctor etc.

Garden / Grounds

Outside the gite and annexe there is a private terrace with garden furniture and BBQ, and steps up to a large grassed garden. The patio and garden are fenced and gated. To the rear of the gite and annexe is a further fenced grassed area with swing sets, which extends into a wooded area running behind the mill and mill house. In all there is almost 4 acres of grounds and river frontage to explore and enjoy and plenty of space for play and relaxation. We have a selection of outdoor games for the use of guests, for example, badminton, football and boules.


Pool

Outdoor heated 9m x 5m swimming pool surrounded by tiled area with sun loungers and parasols. A toilet and changing room is located next to the pool area for your convenience. The pool area is securely enclosed and cannot be accessed by young children without assistance.


Bicycles and Cycle routes

We have a selection of bicycles available for guests. There are numerous tracks and quiet country roads ideal for walking or cycling. The Vendee tourism department have provided marked cycle routes. Maps and details of these routes are provided in the gite, alternatively you may consult the Vendee tourist site directly.


Boating

Rowing boats on the river are available during the year.


Fishing

On-site river fishing is available for guests if they wish. There is a lovely stretch of the river for you to relax by. Please bring your own fishing tackle. Bait etc is widely available. There is a fridge for bait storage in one of the outbuildings. Sea fishing can be arranged by prior notice - please contact us.

Supermarkets

Nearest supermarket is in Ste Hermine, approximately 4km away, with larger hypermarkets available in Lucon, approximately 11km. Please note most supermarkets are closed on Sundays.


Restaurants

Bar / Restaurants are available in Ste Hermine and Ste Gemme la Plaine with a wider selection being available in Lucon and further afield. A brochure of local restaurants is included in the information pack in the gite. read more
