Hotel Description
The baroque capital of the Free State of Saxony is one of Germany's most beautiful cities and its wide range of cultural attractions ensures there is plenty to experience all year round. Amidst architectural masterpieces such as the Semper Opera House, the Zwinger area and the Church of our Lady, the historic Radisson Blu Gewandhaus Hotel shines in its glance. The building was first recorded in 1295 as a cloth hall, where clothiers sold their fabrics. Following its total destruction during the Seven Years War, J. F. Knöbel reconstructed it in 1770. Although gutted by fire during the bombing of Dresden in 1945, the construction was rebuilt in the Sixties and used as a hotel. After complete renovation of the building, the Radisson SAS Gewandhaus Hotel opened its doors in 1997. In 2009 it was renamed as Radisson Blu Gewandhaus Hotel. Situated close to the Old Market Square, this Boutique Hotel offers the perfect starting point for exploring the cultural highlights and unique sights the city offers.Average hotel rating
