Alter Speicher Hotel, Wismar

Alter Speicher Hotel Wismar was built in 1993. The Alter Speicher is the sister hotel of the Alter Speicher in Luebeck and it is run by the same family. The Alter Speicher hotel Wismar is situated in the historic centre of Wismar. It is an old listed hotel which has been totally restored to its original beauty. The front of one part of the Alter Speicher hotel Wismar is erected in a Rusty red. The other part of the Alter Speicher hotel Wismar is the former warehouse still featurning the wooden doors for each of the three storeys from which goods were loaded or unloaded. The spacious lobby is laid out with with grey tiles and the walls are covered with wood half way up. The other half and the ceiling are painted in white. The lobby features an open fire . Next to it and in the city center of the lobby is a white seating area furnished with white leather sofas. The restaurant is on two levels. It features the old original beams and partly the original brick walls. The other walls are painted in white and feature murals depicting scenes of the City.
The medium lobby leads to a hall - which is graded as one of the oldest art deco halls of its time in north Germany and was only rediscovered during the renovation. Traditional north German Hanse building with a red brick front and in the typical shape of the listed buidings of this time.
