Arctic Ilulissat Hotel Ilulissat was built in 1984. This is arguably Greenland's finest hotel. In terms of quality of accommodation, service and food it cannot be highly recommended enough.
The lobby is medium sized with a polished tiled floor and a wooden reception desk. Again it is typically modern Scandinavian style, but numerous Greenland's artefacts remind the visitor that this is a million miles from down town Copenhagen! Most buildings in Greenland strictly put function before form and are consequently often uninspiring to look at. This hotel however manages to look attractive whilst being strong enough to handle some of the planet's least hospitable weather.
