Hey...this hotel is great and no I don't have shares in Starwood. During this trip I stayed in three differrent 4-5 star hotels in HK. For Le Meridien, the room is modern, clean, generous sized and fitted with all the mod cons, with fantastic and calming views over the shipping lanes and surrounding hills.
The location is a little away from the vibe and shopping sprawl of downtown HK, but the hotel provides free shuttle services to Central - all day and late into the night. So if you can handle the short bus trip, then the room and hotel facilities more than make up up for the excursion. On the flip side, Cyberport is a great place for an evening walk.
There is a really bizarre shopping centre in the Cyberport Complex, which is worth seeing if you like architecture. Inside there are some food outlets and limited shopping, but its worth a look for the curved lines, intergrated landscaping and general retail non-comformity.
The facilities and interiors of the hotel are excellent, especially compared to some of the older name hotels in Kowloon in the same price range, where you'll be stuck with very tired 70/80's decor.
If you are a couple or on business, you'd be hard pressed to beat this hotel for value and overall experience.
