I stayed in this hotel between Dec 12-16/2005. Our room had a nice view of the HK Jockey Club and can see the Happy Valley high rise buildings and also that of Causeway. It's a 10mins walk to Causeway Bay-Time Square. Though the hotel had a shuttle service, I couldn't make use of this due to the WTO meeting being held that week. It's probably a hotel for those on biz but those looking to do shopping, it's a bit inconvenient as it's a long walk to the MTR and if you come back late at night, you have to make do with the quiet underground pass.

Hotel staff is very courteous and polite. The restaurant is convenient and the food wasn't bad. The room was comfortable, also with a comfortable bed. In-room coffee service was sufficient. The room even had a hair dryer. Only thing missing was an iron, but it looks like all hotels want their guests to use their laundry service nowaday. Overall the hotel exceeds my expectations for its class and price.

It was basicly very nice since it still new, hope keep up the same quality services. I also like the bath tub instead of just a shower and a nice looking glass ball but draining was little slow. I was explained by front person about the options but I declined because I will be out most of the time. Entrance to front counter, need a wheel chair pass for handicap person and person with big wheel suits cases.

I normallyh stay in hotels which are walking distance in Hong Kong to the MTR. So I did think that the distance to the MTR was more than I was used to. I didn't make use of the shuttle bus (I will next time, for sure) and paid for taxis nearly everyday as I was pushed for time. The hotel itself was brilliant. I thought the service was very good - friendly, helpful and professional. The rooms were adequate and very clean... the bathroom was lovely - not too small... I had a room with frosted windows but I will request a room at the front next time! No complaints at all. I wil definitley book the Cosmopolitan hotel again, as I thought the value for money was very good.

My wife and I stayed at the...
My wife and I stayed at the Cosmopolitan hotel for 3 nights in April 2005 and were surprised to find that it is actually on the site of the former New China News Agency. The hotel is so new that a lot of taxi drivers do not know where it is so to help you could try saying the name in Cantonese - "Lai Do". From site reviews we were a little concerned that the hotel would be rather far from shops and restaurants and were pleasantly surprised that Causeway Bay is only a short walk away. We stayed in a twin room which was much larger than the double we were first offered. The bathroom was a little cramped but sufficient. If you want a view be sure to ask for a room at the front. All the rooms at the back have frosted windows to obscure the view to a cemetary. You will notice also that there are no floors with a 4 in the number - presumably because in Cantonese the word for 4 (sey) sounds very similar for the word for death or die. Not for the superstitious! Overall I would highly recommend this hotel as excellent value for money and will definitely stay there again.

Cosmopolitan Hotel is an excellent hotel on the quiet side of wanchai HK island. Though a little far from MTR (still walking distance) they make up by providing free shuttle buses. Good size room but shower area is very small. Free wifi internet access at lobby areas and inroom chargable broadband.
