On arrival the Hotel was not as I had expected, as it was very basic but acceptably clean. The staff were so nice and friendly that this was a credit to the hotel. However, general instructions/information throughoutwas not clear, and had to be established along the way.
The room was large by Hong Kong Standards, but it was silly things that could have improved the service (eg. In the room there was a kettle, tray, cups and saucers, spoons - but not tea, coffe, etc - I asked the staff, but they said they could not supply it - What is the point in that! A cup of hot water maybe!) There was no shower Gel/Shampoo, Conditioner, only a tooth brush kit and a shower cap. Fortunately I had this with me and that saved the day.
The breakfast was basic, but acceptable. I like the fact that they had 'real orange juice with bits in it'.
The location was just great for me. Aberdeen is so sweet and a hidden part of Hong Kong that every one should expereince. Its a fishing port that is so interesting to the eye (and my camera). There is so much going on, on the river, boat trips, fishing vessels, old ladies peeling shelled prawns on the promenade - Just wonderful.
The hotel, is a little distant from the Central Hong Kong, but there is a free shuttle bus that is very easy and accessable. (It actaully goes to the Airport Express), so that is really good to know about. I caught the bus back from the city and it cost just 4.70 dollars (40p).
I loved Aberdeen so much, that I returned from the city early, so that I could experinece it all over again, before returning to the UK. I loved Aberdeen, and this is probably the best hotel there as its so small.
