Hotel on a hill
Situated between Tsim Sha Shiu MTR & Hung Hom MTR. Tsim Sha Shiu station can take u to almost any other MTRs and is centrally located IMO. Behind Hung Hom MTR is the China-HK train station that can take you to China if you plan to visit places like Guangzhou, Foshan etc. The hotel is up the hill which gives you abit of serenity as compared to others situated on busy streets.
Hotel is few minutes walk to main shopping area of Nathan Road. Very near to Miramar shopping mall where all the i.t. fashion brands and D-MOP are. Just next to Miramar hotel is a building where hongkongers buy luxury watches and cameras for both new and used. Also there is a museum, coliseum, polytechnic university nearby.
HK and other cuisine restaurants are within walking distances and there is also a mid-size supermarket nearby where u can stock up water, snacks, toiletries etc.
Hotel rooms are generally quite old but is slightly bigger than many others of the same price range. Nothing fanciful about the rooms and they are still using the traditional key for entrance. Big pillow, wifi access, TV, hot water and other facilities are functional. Ive checked in twice and both visits they do not top up the complementary distilled water, ie, regardless how long u stay, you get 2 bottles of water only. Hotel is fairly clean but the housekeeping needs some work. When i 1st checked in one of my drinking glass has syrup/juiced stained at the bottom. Lobby toilet is clean as well. As for staff they are polite and efficient and all speaks english, mandarin n cantonese.
If u intend to spend most of your HK trip (or even China) out on the streets, but you still want a fairly decent size room, i will recommend SHV Hotel. IMO, the hotel expresses itself for guests whom are looking for 'leave me alone, i dont need to be impressed' kind of people.
